It was a sunny morning for the inauguration and chilly night for the cultural activities for the ‘Dr Rajakumar Memorial’ inauguration.

At Bangalore Palace grounds it was ‘Amara Jeevi Dr Rajakumar’ concept driven by S Narayan acclaimed director for five hours. There was special helicam to cover the event and Udaya TV has filled enough stock to gain bank balance.

A title song coming often and often could have been avoided; the length of the program was big botheration. The media was put aside without care. Yet we all respected the gem called ‘Dr Rajakumar’ and covered the cultural event spending seven hours. There was not even a proper gallery for the media to witness the event.

Dr B Saroja Devi had spoken at the morning function. She was the first to speak and she did not have anything to say extra – this was not required at all. The lighting the lamp program took place at 6.45 pm while the invitation printed said it would be 6 pm. S Narayan discipline was blocked for 45 minutes. There were technical snags quite often.

As printed in the invitation for this government sponsored event Amitabh Bachchan, Mammooty did not turn up for the morning and evening function. In the morning function of inauguration at Kanteerava studio, Rajanikanth and Chiranjeevi graced the evening.

There was absence of many stars of Kannada cinema. Actress Ramya, Pooja Gandhi, Ragini Dwivedi, Radhika Kumaraswamy are part of the Kannada cinema industry. In both the functions Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana and Anirudh were not found.

The arrival of Sudeep, Darshan and Bullet Prakash raised eye brows as they made just a cake walk. Sudeep and Darshan arrived in ‘Ollada Manassu’. They made presence because of Dr Ambarish ‘Order’. The cat walk they made irked the fans of Dr Rajakumar Abhimanigala Sangha. There was mild protest on this attitude.

In the beginning Chief Minister Siddaramayya, KJ George, Roshan Baig, Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar, Umasri, Shiv, Raghu, Puneeth, Sharadamma sister of Dr Raj, HD Gangaraju, Sa Ra Govindu, SV Rajendra Singh babu, Tara, Jayamala on stage lighted the lamp to inaugurate the evening.

Actor Sridhar came up with Ganesha Stuthi dance, Akul and Priyanka for state anthem Jayabharatha Jananiya Tanujathe, Balraj for Shivappa Kayo Tande, Chiranjeevi Sarja and Sanjana for Gangi Nin Mele Manasaithe, song and dance of Bittare Sigadavane, Vijaya Raghavendra and Meghana Raj for Yeri Mele Eri Hakki Bandu Kuthaithallo…. He also danced for Shiva Shiva….with Rachita Ram and Kannadave Mathu Channa…was on Upendra came up on stage and that thrilled the audience.  Power star Puneeth Rajakumar joined for songs after Mithra and Tabla Naani comedy skit, Malashri came for Anthintha Hennu Naanalla…for Swabhimanada Nalle song bit Dr Leelavathi and Edakallu Chandrasekhar took part, Srinath and Bhavya were present for Eneno Aase….there was ‘Bhaktha Prahallada’ episode, for Binkada Singari Mai Donkina Vayyari actor and director Mohan and Rupika performed on stage.

Super star Upendra recalled one of the incidents of his life with ‘Annavru’, Dr Shivarajakumar in his address thanked everyone who came to the event and made it successful.

Anjaneya Karnataka minister for social welfare was only speaker from government side at this cultural event. It is best to inculcate qualities of Dr Rajakumar for good life he pointed.
